- Soak all the lentils for a few hours in water n then cook till tender.wheat n barlay ko separately gala lein I used pressure cooker for this n added rest of the boiled lentils in it.let cook on low flame n use a hand blender for a nice mixture occasionally.
- Heat oil in pan and add sliced onions fry till golden brown.add chicken pieces with ginger garlic and saute very well till chicken color changes n oil separates.
- Add all the dry spices except garam masala with a splash of water in between and then chopped green chillies n yogurt and then saute well.ads enough water in which chicken becomes tender.I used chicken with bones.
- When chicken is done and all water dries then let it cool n separate the chicken from the bones and shred with hands or in a processor.
- Put the shredded chicken on the wheat lentils mixture and slowly cook on low flame stirring occasionally in between for about half hour.
- Add garam masala powder n adjust the salt according to taste.to prepare tarka heat desi ghee in pan n add sliced onion till brown pour over haleem garnish with lemon wedges,Julienne ginger,and fresh chopped green coriander and serve hot with naan of your choice.
